Telangana to adopt Ayushman Bharat scheme The State Health Department signed an MoU with the National Health Authority (NHA) to implement the Ayushman Bharat scheme in the State on Tuesday, in the context of the major relief for Covid 19 patients. Ayushman Bharat now includes oxygen supply and the costs of essential medicines for Covid 19 treatment as part of its central scheme which converges with the State government’s Arogyasri.
A day before BJP Chairman Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the State signed the protocol for a three-hour rapid application of Ayushman-Bharat to the government and included Covid-19 in the Arogyasri system. In December 2020, the State Government itself decided to join the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. But the MoU was signed on Tuesday.
Telangana to adopt Ayushman Bharat scheme
The State Medical and Health Department finalised the Guidelines for Ayushman Bharat in the State during the signing of the MoU. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao instructed officials concerned to ensure that the medical services were extended in accordance with directives.

Health Secretary SAM Rizvi subsequently issued orders: “CEO Arogyasri Health Care Trust is responsible for ensuring that treatment for patients in state-wide empaneled hospitals is taken with immediate effect under the Ayushman Bharat-Arogyasri convergence regime.”
Speaking on Wednesday at their respective national houses, Bjpo State President and MP Sanjay Kumar called for the party leaders and workers to carry out a fast “Gareebolla Kosam BJP Deeksha.” Launched in 2018 by the Center, Ayushman Bharat offers yearly Rs 5 lakh medical insurance.
For benefit of the poor
The MoU was signed just a day ahead of BJP leader Bandi Sanjay’s proposed fast, demanding the State to implement the scheme for the benefit of poor people

BJP State president Bandi Sanjay called upon party workers to undertake a fast for the poor from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm on Wednesday.
